This week is Grace's 9th birthday, and I'm in such a different place than I was last year. Last year, she'd been diagnosed just 4 months prior, and all I could think about was how her 8th birthday party was going to be totally different than her 7th. I was sad most of the day, continuing to mourn the loss of my daughter's health.
This year... totally different! It's back to the normal crazy of my life. I can't remember the last time I was sad about Grace's diabetes. I get mad, frustrated, and confused, but rarely sad anymore. She's healthy, happy, active and living a very full life. There's soccer, swimming, girl scouts, school, friends, etc. all to fill her growing mind and body.
I can't believe my little girl is 9. What a blessing!
